Frame of Mind

While I definitely paint to satisfy myself first, I would also prefer to somehow not amass an unusually large collection of my own work.

Update, February 2012

Thank you for visiting my website.

The winter quiet is allowing me painting time for various upcoming shows.  I’ve completed my piece for the RHYTHMS OF DARKNESS AND LIGHT exhibit at the Grand Marais Art Colony, opening March 23rd.  I’m also busily working on five painting ideas for the July, 2012 Ely Greenstone Juried Art Show.  Plus, I’ve completed one of two paintings for the November, 2012 Collectors Covey Minature Show in Dallas, Texas.

This month, I’m wrapping up my oil painting course at Confederation College with a floral painting.  I’ll be teaching a little less this year with expectations of more travels for painting and photography.  Teaching has it own valuable rewards and I expect to continue teaching another longer course commencing in autumn, 2012.

And one last thing, I’m planning on supplying several new paintings to Kess Gallery and Bare Bones Gallery in Ely, Minnesota and to Artique, Ltd. Gallery in Anchorage, Alaska.

Enough! I had better get to painting.

HAPPY 2012!!

The need for creative expression has always been on my Life’s Agenda. I always thought the process of putting paint to board is magical and this thought permeates my painting. Imagine being part of a community that began with cave painting and continues today, where the paints and brushes have remained the same over the centuries. It’s such a privilege to see the world through the eyes of an artist.
